Humidity. Blah. You would think that I would have adapted to the soupy existence of summer by now. I grew up in Maryland, close enough to the water that summers were drenched in sweat. Then I lived in New Orleans for almost four years, which is constantly like living in a glass of water. But no, somehow I am still surprised by the humidity every year. All in all, I can live with it. I will take the warm weather of Spring and Summer any day over the harshness of old man winter. It makes for some interesting hair days, at best. Not to mention by garden loves it!
Increased humidity and the summer heat means that strawberry season is starting to wind down in Maryland. This winter was harsh on strawberry plants so they did not seem quite as abundant this year. Despite fewer berries, I still made my fair share of strawberry treats. I decided to make one more frozen strawberry dessert this season before the red gems are gone for good – Strawberry Cheesecake Popsicles. I came across a recipe for these creamy pops on the Domestic Fits blog. There was no need to change anything about this recipe, so I’ll let you hope on over to Jackie’s sight and see the recipe for yourself. A great way to use up the last of the strawberries. Enjoy!
