10 Ways to Eat Ice Cream on Christmas

December 22, 2010 2 Comments

christmas story

I know you know how to eat ice cream –  spoon, scoop, eat – but it is fun to think about the multiple ways you can eat ice cream.  With the holiday approaching and more time to lounge and eat, it is the perfect time to think about 10 ways to Eat Ice Cream on Christmas.

10) Eat ice cream while sitting on the couch watching your favorite Christmas movie (my choice would be a viewing of A Christmas Story).

9) Take a family trip to your favorite ice cream shop on Christmas Eve.  If you live in New Orleans, I recommend Creole Creamery or Angelo Brocato.

8) Make an ice cream cake.

7) Help serve a holiday meal at a local homeless shelter and donate ice cream so those less fortunate can get a special Christmas treat.

6) Make a holiday milkshake.  Chocolate & Peppermint would be my choice, but Egg Nog ice cream would also make an excellent base (with a little extra rum).  Don’t forget the mix-ins!

5) Add Vanilla ice cream to cherry soda for a festive Christmas float.

4) Get the family together for some ice cream snowballs.

3) Melt some boozy ice cream, such Amaretto ice cream, and use it as a creme anglais over your favorite holiday bread or cake.

2) Put a scoop on top of your favorite holiday dessert, such as Caramel Ice Cream with Apple Crisp.

1) In between visiting family and opening presents, take a break and eat some ice cream straight from the carton/pint.  It’s Christmas.  Normal rules do not apply.

Have a fun and safe holiday!
